1: You were on probation.
2: You crossed an international border
3: You got 3 months in jail for the combination of #1 and #2 above.
4: You get a $2,000 a month pension because of the combination of #1, #2, and #3 above.

Is this correct? Or is there a #2.5 I'm missing (e.g. authorities ran you over in their attemp to facilitate transfer from #2 to #3)?

yes, cause i got imprisoned as a was studying mathematics / informatics. i worked everywhere for Little Money even very hard work. cant get a propper work now cause of my history. when i have the Pension, i could work 3 hrs / day. im very destroyed, worked 12 hrs without Weekend/ Christmas for 300 bucks or even without Money. this is a Little payback, it gives me 66 % from my average income as informatican. in Germany , everything that accounts is your degree when you finish studies, rest is unimportant, even if you have skills.

24k a year isnt great. This sounds very limiting. Owning a home, raising a family, a busy social life and regular holidays will be hard to achieve and possibly out of reach.

24k a year is... quite a lot anywhere in europe! I would be very happy having 2000 euro net a month. From Belgium by the way. I work a 40 hour week as a (starting) IT sys admin, and I'm making about 1900 a month.
And even though I love my job, I am sacrificing 40 hours per week of my life to this. I would be very happy to get 2000 grand a month for doing fuck all and having all the time in the world to myself.
