First that cooler? WHY, just why? What is the budget on the cooler?

Nobody needs the 4TB black. You will not fill it up. The 2TB should be more than enough for just about everyone.

AS5 is old and not the top dog anymore. Gelid extreme is the new top dog. About a 3C jump between AS5 and GE. Do it. That is huge.

As far as the case, is there a reason there? If not, I would recommend http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811854003&cm_re=phanteks_enthoo-_-11-854-003-_-Product for about the same price, for a tad more than that case there is even better still.

For the record, awesome ram there. Buy it.

Usualy I would say the RM1000 is overpriced, but that is a really good deal with the Promo and MIR. $132 after promo/MIR

Cooler is about $50. Case wasn't for any reason. I haven't built a PC in about 8 years so I'm a bit behind with the new stuff haha, So i definitely appreciate the advice!

A 4tb is overkill. That is cash that can be spent elsewhere for now. (As I push data to my server here.....)

For the cooler, a 212+ evo would work just as well. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005O65JXI/?tag=extension-kb-20

That would be fine for the chip there.

Between the cooler and case savings there, you can pocket some cash for later or do as I do and blow it on more ships.

Honestly a solid 750 is good. But for the price? For me I would buy the 1k but I would OVERCLOCK to the moon

Do as RJ says, not necessarily as he does. The 212 EVO works really well and doesn't look like a slinky caught in the christmas lights

I recently did some changes on my own computer, wanted to wait until SC was further along but the ol gal was showing her age with games like Dragon Age Inquisition.

I only put in a I5 4690, but I paired it with a Nocuta NH-D15
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608045

Its a air cooler that is still used with closed loop liquid cooling solutions for benchmark charts, and highly regarded by alot of computer builder sites., it also inculdes noctua brand thermal paste, and 2 noctua 140 fans that have differant fan speed cabling if you want near silent running.
( its huge, but easy as heck to install, even with clumsy fat fingered hands ha )

I am not sure what your future plans / what you also do with your computer, but it would be worth while to invest in a better CPU cooler if you ever plan to overclock that I7 chip in the future

The BALL cooler... not like !
Get this one : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181036 or the H80
Dump the 4TB drive, get a 2TB or 1 TB HDD.
Get a 64GB SSD for the OS and a 256 (i personally would get a 128GB) SSD for STARCITIZEN!
And get a smaller PSU like a 750 or 700W (unless you want to use it to power up a Fusion reactor)
Im a fan of Bitfenix cases :P so im not comenting on the case !
:)

I would agree on going SSD if the budget allowed. But never go 64gb. You will regret it. 120gb minimum, 256 ideal.

A solid 750 is perfect. I never said anything about the 1k due to the awesome price.

Now I would skip the CLCs (closed loop coolers) as price/performance would be better off with a 212+. An i7 at 4.5 can run fine off of the 212+ for half or less cost.

Would I advise it?

Well first the Pro and cons.

Pro: Super quiet. No to minimal fan noise now.
Can cool better than all AIO coolers, including the h100i
Can cool more than just your CPU.
Looks amazing.

Con: Adds weight. Quite a bit of weight. My rig is pushing 90+lbs
Expensive. A basic starter loop for CPU only will run about 150-200 but can be expanded to add more blocks later on.
Risk of leaks. (Disclaimer, Leak testing solves just about every issue. Use non-conductive fluid and no problem.)
Addictive. Once you get used to seeing a 5ghz 4770k at no more than 40C, you get hooked.

To decide, I would check the watercooling section at Overclock.net, I am an avid user there and point everyone to there to read before you buy. Research is needed before you dive in.

To tack on to what RussianJ said, unless you are planning on REALLY overclocking, a good air cooler (I +1 the Evo 212, I have it and it runs great) will be more than sufficient for what you need. Unless you hate the sound of fans idling, which I don't mind.

For reference: I have an FX-8350 running at 4.4 GHz with an Evo 212 and I idle at ~35 degrees, gets up to about 65-70 under very heavy load.

But my case does have like 3 extra fans, so take it with a grain of salt.

Smoking! Awesome build.

I used these sites to build my computer. Really helped me figure things out a lot.
This to calculate the total power requirement, without any overclocking, your rig would come to around 400W right around where mine was at:
http://www.coolermaster.outervision.com/poc.jsp
Found this at Tom's Hardware:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-4790k-devils-canyon-overclock-performance,3845-9.html

For the SSDs, I was considering Crucials because their price just beat everyone else's. People seem pretty happy with it but quite a few people reported they had problems where their drives just died after a year. Erred on caution.
After reading that, I bought 2 of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167177
I really wanted these but they were way too much for my budget but now, now so much: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167190

Happy building!

It is all about the controller for the SSD. I use a ton of 840 Evo/pro drives and now a pair of 850 pro as well. No issues.

On the power topic, it comes down to rail usage, not really total power. I can use just about no power but of my rails are saturated, what is the point

I am a fan (bad pun) of the noctua 140mm fans i have in my case now, air flow is great in a Core v21 case so i was able to use the quiet , low RPM cables that come with each fan so my noise levels are pretty good.

Only thing I can suggest is go with a liquid cooler instead of the fan. They're just as cheap as the high end fans now and preform much better.

Unless you get up to a h100i or so, the air has them beat price performance. A 212+ EVO can be under $30 and will run any of the new chips at 4.5 or faster. Plus its one less thing to fail. AIOs can (very odd to happen....) have a pump failure, RIP there or have a rupture, RIP entire rig.
