Is it possible to melt some ships and use the credit to buy a pack?

I have 3 ships that altogether cost more than a pack that they are in. Is it possible to melt these ships and buy this pack with the store credit? It would allow me to use the excess to buy an additional ship plus give me a few extra ships that I had not planned on purchasing. I don't think I lose anything because the pack gives every ship LTI as well.

If you mean melt the pack because the ships inside are worth more individually then you're not gaining anything. The pack melted will give that price. not the individual ship's melt price.

Sunder is right.. ships in a pack do not have an individual value... only the pack has a value. You can not melt part of a pack.

But yes, you can melt your ships and then just buy the pack. As long as the pack isn't warbond. I think there were one or two warbond packs.

Ok thanks, after recalculating, The melt price is lower than estimated so it's not as good deal as I thought to melt the individual ships to repurchase the pack.

many ships increased in value .. in case your ship is with you for some time - you could use it to upgrade to something bigger (in such cases "current" price is taken into account to calculate upgrade cost )

You also can't melt individual ships in a pack. They are a single unit together in the pack.

You can melt anything you bought with real cash or got as gift in your web hangar and get the credit value of it in credits.
Then buy new packs or ships and you can buy the melted pack back with new cash or using a buyback token the melted pack if you so chose to later,
There is no difference if it's a warbond or not once you bought it it's yours in web hangar or in buyback, but you only got access to the ship/gear in game that is in your web hangar.

BUT! Warbond can only be bought with new cash in store, but can be bought back with buyback token and credits and as Sunder say you can not split packs they are as one.

Exception some early packs and and rare special packs you can not buyback, but they warn you that it can not be undone or bought back if you melt them. (but you still get the credit value for them.)

CHEERS!!
