Teller's new ship size comparison video. This one is pretty epic.
Jibbers Crabst, That gives me a new appreciations for how huge the Bengal and Pegasus will be. If you can launch freaking Retaliators and Constellations out of the hangar bay, that is a pretty big ship.

The Javelin Destroyer is the largest, player-ownable ship that was/is available for purchase prior to the PU going live.

We will be able to capture, hold, and operate larger capital ships not offered for sale outright and CIG confirmed there will eventually be a handful of derelict persistent Bengals scattered around the universe. A "finders, keepers" type situation.

Expect ownership of said derelict Bengals to be a source of many great battles, most of them likely to end in the Bengal's destruction. ;)

Problem with their plan for persistent Bengals is that they will all be hidden away and never used.

All "lolz crash it into the sun" jokes aside, a Bengal may end up being more trouble than its worth.

First off CIG has hinted that abandoned Bengals are very damaged, enough that the UEE decided it was better to leave it than attempt to repair it. So thats probably a TON of time and money to get it flyable, much less back up to full combat effectiveness.

Second, probably gotta have like 30 players, at minimum, babysit it 24/7 or hope NPCs are good enough to not get owned and then lose our Bengal to a rival org. Then gotta decide who's in "charge" of it, and where it goes, which TEST sub-faction it supports, etc etc etc.

I personally have no interest in a Bengal, but I'll help capture and defend one. But it seems like a recipe for drama, especially if CIG only seeds a handful of them.

Problem is without a home base you have difficulty moving a org. TEST is a rogue organization and a lot of members wint be allowed in UEE space. So we need a base for them to stay at. We could takeover a pirate station but that gives us the same issue as a bengal. We could also just sit in some rogue asteroid hangers and wait, but we wont have any accomplishment other than normal debauchery and we need super debauchery. We also need a emd goal for the org. What is it we want? TEST Alliance claims sovereignty in EvE and wants more. Having the ship is a symbol of strength and losing it is part of the game. We can not live in fear of losing something, stoo us from being the best squadron.

I don't really see the need for a bengal, or any persistent base. There will be landing zones in lawless space for anyone who isn't allowed in UEE space, where you won't have to worry about people jacking your stuff/ship. Who will pay the guards, fuel, munitions, and repairs for the bengal?

TEST is already BEST, we don't need a bengal to prove it

Okay lets say you have everyone find their own hangar, you spread the legion throughout the region causing a delay in grouping and enemies to pick us off in the grouping. If we group up in one spot it leaves us open to base camping when we try to attack.

You have a bengal, you can have everyone docked inside ready to roll, you can't siege it because it is a weapon platform to itself. Everyone keeps saying "oh who will man it when not in use?" Do people not remember that there is space docks confirmed during Q&A. I think the question was along the lines of "my corp is small and only 10 of us, what do we do if we have a idris and can't be on to guard it?" which the response was something like "you can space dock it where it will be safe, we don't expect people to always be on to defend their ships".

There is no way they can expect us to man a ship 24/7. EvE has Outposts with bubble shield to dock Titans and Super Carriers even. That game is more cut throat than SC will ever be IMO. expecting a small organization to always have their capital ship manned is ridiculous, if CR is going that route, then he needs to have some screw tightened and be brought down to reality of jobs, school, and time-to-play.

There are also a few Million Mile High Club owners in our Org. I predict a lot of TEST attendees spending an inordinate amount of time in these alcohol-laden facilities. ;)

If Bengals can dock and there are a set number of them then they will disappear and never be seen again. I'd much prefer a rare spawn system with ludicrously low spawn rates than a set number of persistent Bengals. And by low I mean one or two every few months.

We're not likely going to be a "rogue organization" as a majority, but we do plan on having a way to accommodate the rogue members. :p

There will be few enough bengals that most orgs will not have one. They will not allow all orgs not lucky enough to have one to be crippled by being spread too thin or base camped.

Also, I doubt that space docks will be invincible or particularly cheap for such a large ship. If there is a target juicy enough, there will be an org crazy enough to attack it!

Which is why as soon as we find ours we'll fix it up enough to fly and into the star it goes while we record every moment of it. No overhead and no one will come after us and we don't have to babysit it. Then we'll go find the others and do the same thing. Even if we have to take them by force.
