Their systemic approach to soundscapes has the potential to deliver unique environments that an artist would struggle to create on their own. The equipment on your body jangles as you move, the underground cavern adds an echo, the low growling in the distance is bouncing off of walls in a way that makes it tough to pinpoint. These are all tertiary factors that add tiny bits of flavor and immersion. Imagine being pinned down by enemy fire only to see a flash of movement overhead followed shortly by a sonic boom and fireball where the badguys stood. Other games would have to script that moment with audio cues. Making the whole thing systemic is such a stroke of genius that will allow for some really interesting cinematic moments to happen organically.
