Has anyone seen recent data as to the range of the various missiles and torps? I was watching this again, and was struck by the fact the Eclipse could lock a Tally at 27 km (time index 1:12) but the targeting retical did not appear, so I am presuming the Eclipse was still out of range of the torps?
Time index 1:50: the Eclipse targeting retical appears on the Tally, distance 20 km
Time index 1:58: the retical locks and the Eclipse again notifies it has lock, distance 18 km
Time Index 2:33: the Eclipse notifies the weapons systems are online, distance 11 km
Time index 2:42: the Eclipse launches, but I saw no indication there was any status change, and can't see how the pilot knew when he could fire. Target is not at 12.7 km, so the pilot could have fired previously.
So can anyone tell me what is the range of the torps?
I am shocked one can scope a tally on radar with S1 sensors at 30 km. Not good for the Tally. Meanwhile it appears the Eclipse may have showed on the Tally's scopes, since the Tally began to move off at the end, but obviously it's fate was sealed.
How do you know when you are i range of a big torp?
