I also wouldn't mind that once you load a canister into a bed, the bed transfers it internally and you can't remove a full canister.
They better make commited canisters non removable.
Because if I can remove them I'm gonna get me an Apollo and go full-insurance-fraud and med-gel wholesale.
As will about everyone else with a medical ship.
That also brings up the question if medical ships/ride come with medgel already equipped.
Because a Nursa is at 124720 aUEC.
IF it comes with medgel pre-loaded then isn't it cheeper to buy a Nursa, take the gel and throw away the ... err... packaging?

Much more medgel per bed, much less used for injuries.. a lot more user friendly experience.
Good news especially for the Pisces and Nursa. Because no SCU for storing reserves. They would have been reduced to being the proverbial "one-trick-pony".

Yessir!
I've had an Apollo Medivac since the concept sale, and I would absolutely go full-insurance-fraud to get that sweet sweet med goop.
Plus, medical ships will already be a big target to take out for large fights. If the goop can be pulled out of the beds even more so. Outside of battles too.
Now any spares in the hold for backup, well that's fair game. :)
