Highly recommend the Nexus phones. Most up to date and you really should not have to root it. The normal nexus 6 was obnoxiously large but I just purchased the Nexus 6P. If size is an issue, I would go with the Nexus 5X.

The Blackberry Priv will have a real keyboard. If you don't get that I would suggest a Nexus device.

Some really good conversation here about phones, far better than I've seen recently. Normally turns into an Apple Vs Android debate pretty fast.
