New ship and Ship upgrade advice?

Hey guys:
With the Orion and the 300 series sale is coming up I am considering several alternatives:

Upgrade my 325A to either a 350R or an M50
Upgrade 325A to 350R, scrap Gamma and buy M50
OR
Melt 325,gamma,ghost to buy the Orion!!! This will leave me with the Freelance and Connie.

I dont know what to do!!!!

Help !

While everything might change drastically with upcoming patches, when i flew all 300 series ships for the video review, 325A was absolutely my least favorite one. It handled worse than an aurora loaded with bricks.
350R is definitively my favorite ship for cruising around and dogfighting. m50 just doesnt do it for me, i'd even prefer gamma to it (looking at price/performace ratio)
LTI orion does sound awesome if you are into mining.
I would definitively suggest to have at least 1 fast ship. How about this, get 350R AND Orion

Thats good advice. I really liked mining om EvE so I want to have a decent shop for that. Cam you link me that video you did about tue 300?

One thing to remember is that performance right now is not final, and Arena Commander is regarded as an in-universe simulator. They've stated that PU combat will be very different from AC, and the 325A is a solid fighter that a lot of players really like.

It's also not truly fair to compare maneuverabilty performance between the 325A and the 350R. That'd be like saying an up-armored subaru impreza handles like crap compared to its lightweight racing-mod cousin. As the combat components get their balance passes, I think we're really going to see a decrease in the amount of players using the racers in open combat. That said, a lot of players are buying their ships for what they want to do in the PU, not for their performance in AC. I personally have a cutlass Blue, and while I do use it in AC, I don't think I should swap it for a hornet siply because it drives like a schoolbus on ice; I'm going to use it for armored cargo hauling and light escort duties in the PU because that's what it's designed to do.

I'd say upgrade to 350r. Same hardpoints, same outfit except 2x engines (same size) and bigger power plant.
Of course everything is about to change... But still 350R can be upgraded further.
It's limited sale, after all. You always can sell it for a bit more and get your 325A back with some profit...

So I got the M50 and the M50 to 350 CCU. Ill use the M50 mow then upgrade to the 350 later ;)

I'd get the Orion, because she's a big girl, and I don't plan to race much in the PU.
The racers are sexy, but I could probably buy them in game with money I make from the Orion.
And the LTI is always a bonus.

Personally, Orion is a given.

Cash machine and it's big (crash more things!) with a lancer and Connie you would be in an amazing position to make money at launch with the help of a TESTie or two helping. Buy the other ships you want with the profit. LTI on a mining ship is a big kicker for me after playing eve and random suicide greifers.

I don't want to do mining. I want someone else to do the mining, then go and steal their shit. Problem with that versus my current hangar is I got two ships with combined cargo space of 0. So I need to go shopping at some point...

Anyway, I really love the 350r. Not as a racer but as a fighter. It's more nimble then Hornet and hell of a lot faster, so it gives you option of either fight using zoom and boom, or to do a spectacular crash at really high speed. 3 weapons + 4 missiles combined to speeeeeeeeed makes it an interceptor in the true meaning of the word: Someone spots the enemy -> get there ASAP -> spam missiles -> maybe fire some lasers -> crash ->Win.

Also Chris or someone said somewhere that even ships with zero cargo will have some kind of "place for personal belongings". Rushing a briefcase full of diamonds was specifically mentioned as one kind of delivery mission that 0-cargo ship could do. That sounds kind of fun.

I would hold that ccu as long as you can due to the reddit and RSI conversation that states the m50 may be the fastest ship AFTER mods. As the 350 is already modded and is basically maxed out where the m50 is stock.

Just a thought.

can i get a link to that conversation? Looking at modules sizes, both are "maxed out".

Actually, IIRC, the 350R has 2x TR3 engines mounted at the moment, and can fit 2x TR4. So while the M50 (as is) has its max engine rating (although you can likely still get BETTER engines), the 350R has an entire tier to go up to.
