The processor was 500 it's self so.. wasn't cheap! When all is said and done I will have spent over 3k on this system
Damn, I spent $2-2.5k on my computer about 7 years ago. It's nearing its end. Will probably need to price one out at the end of the year.

From an 8700k so 2 gens... should be decent uplift (but the GPU is going to be bigger well hopefully)

I9 - 10900K - this is a gaming only build, non of that rendering crap Ryzen is so good at. So going to be state of the art!
Cool. I went from a i7 3770k to a Ryzen 7 3700x. Massive difference!! I dint realise how out dated my CPU and RAM were!

You can build a good SC level system for 1000 on up. I got a big bonus this year and promised myself I would have a super high end system for just once in my life lol
I'm actually getting a bonus at the end of the year that should let me build one as well lol. I did so much research for my last computer, it's going to be number crunching time again. Not looking forward to it.

That look awesome, nice clean build.
You gonna love the silence of the liquid cooling.
CHEERS! 🍻
Thanks! It's not that clean... I need to go back in and work the cables a bit better but got to tired after putting it all together

The AIO is amazing, keeping that 10900k OC to 5.2 all core temps only getting to 35c while in Star Citizen after an hour or so

Intel pissd me off with their usual antics so I promised myself my next build would be an AMD. Intel kept repackaging the same crap until AMD lit a fire under their arse. So your 10900k might be faster than my 3950X, but I am happy with what I got. Congrats on your new build by the way, that is a kick ass processor that should provide you with years of enjoyment.

Of course my son is enjoying his upgrade to my old i7-7820X system so it was a win win for both of us.

I'm glad I won't be able to afford one for several months because then I don't have to fret over not being able to get one. Yep. So glad. *cries*

But that is awesome you got one! Why did you decide on the 3090 instead of the 3080? Or waiting for a 3080ti?

It was a couple things, first the memory, I knew the 10gb on the 3080 seemed a bit thin and lacked some future proofing (and figured Nvidia would just release a 20gb model in 4 - 6 months anyway) AND more importantly I just wanted to have the biggest badded GPU and could afford it at the moment lol
