I feel bad for
@Stevetank and anyone else who put effort into their applications, deserve a chance to compete for an Odin and genuinely want to buy one. Let's hope they will all get acceptance emails in time for the sale.
There are some very funny Reddit posts like
this one (probably elsewhere too) showing the unserious applications which have been 'accepted' after 'careful consideration'. If the comment on that post about someone submitting a chicken soup recipe and still being accepted was true, hats off to them. And yes, practically none of those joke applications that got accepted will result in an actual attempt to buy one, so they won't be in the presumed F5 wars when the waves open up on 24 May.
Being silly is part of this game like it's part of practically any other, we're all here to have fun, and I can't blame folks for doing that. I bet
everyone genuinely willing to pay for an Odin will get a chance to pledge for one before it's flyable and I'm reasonably sure anyone serious about it will succeed in pledging for one sooner or later - maybe not this DefenceCon, but at a future sale event. But if CIG weren't able to review and consider all the applications they got carefully, it's manipulative to try to make recipients of the acceptance email feel specially chosen, and the folks they're manipulating in this case are likely their most generous backers.
That's not funny.
