Here is the bottom line about why the Bengal needs to be sent into the sun and everyone here will agree. The tears generated by the SC community over the destroyed Bengal will make the ultimate TEST Beer in SC and this world a reality. That is worth crashing for I believe.

To be honest, the odds of us actually ever sending a Bengal into the star is extremely low when you factor in the probable practical considerations and the strategic value of keeping a Bengal operational under TEST.

In the end, though, I am in favor of operating a Pegasus Escort Carrier and a Battlecruiser as part of a fleet. :)

Crashing it into the sun is great and all, but why not crash it into a densly populated planet, "by accident". If we crash it into the sun, sure we will have a great tale to tell, but crash it into a place that people give a damn about, and sir, we have ourself a monument to the God King, Montoya.

I think NKato is right on with the more practical goal of an escort carrier, which will probably be way easier to man, arm, and find in the first place. There is no reason to think they will not have it in the PU. After they spend all the time and resources making it, why not make it capture/find-able?

Calling it now. Hoping CIG won't put another one ingame after we crash it and call it emergent game play in line with the lore.

I propose one bengal be saved in memory of BARBELITH, to be christened the Cat Carrier so that a legend may continue to exist within SC.

BARBELITH is based on an ancient legend of a huge carrier full of cats that roams the galaxy. It refuses to respond to hails and will not defend itself if attacked. Over the years people have come to silently respect the Cat Carrier and let it continue it's mysterious voyage unaccosted. Rumor has it that whole battles have come to a halt because the cat carrier has drifted through the battlefield, only to resume once it's safely out of range. Those unwise enough to attempt to board the carrier will encounter a curious sight, every cat is wearing a tiny space uniform and seems to be carrying out an important task. They all stop what they are doing and stare. Thousands of eyes reflecting the light of your ship back at you. You back away slowly and return to your craft. As you fly away the Cat Carrier launches an interceptor Hornet, but it has no pilot, only cats. The Hornet drifts lifelessly away into space. You survive to spread word of the Cat Carrier to the rest of your kind.
