Agreed. Though I think a better first response craft would be a fully crewed Redeemer. I like this idea a lot.

Now that piracy is in the game more properly, let's hope they'll next focus on escort contracts and balancing the economy around the idea that traders need to hire escorts (yes, plural), so Piracy will be actually PvP rather than PvWreck.

Problem is there isn't enough money in cargo / hull scraping etc to be able to pay the escorts any sort of decent wage.

The escorts will mostly just do other combat missions and earn 4x to 10x.

Only really roll players or mates helping mates will do any escorting.

I like escorts. Preferably 30 and blonde.

UNLESS they start offering contracts for it. Sorta like how the 9tails mission currently works. Traders make bonuses for deliveries, escorts get paid for their time plus kill bonuses, and pirates get paid for taking down freighters. And everybody wins!!! :D

UNLESS they start charging for it in contracts. similar to how the current 9tails mission operates. Deliveries earn bonuses for traders, kill bonuses for escorts, and bringing down freighters by pirates earns awards for escorts. And everyone triumphs!!!
