Raised chickens for a while, way back when. Some breeds are really friendly, like basque chickens they are almost cuddly like kittens or puppies. But most, the ones that find their way to the dinner table, don't have that much personality.
I feel sorry for that little kid feeling so guilty as if she had done something cruel.
Ha. Yeah, we did too. Had a big ol' chicken coop with all the little bastards clucking around.
