Well, I've spent my budget for the year. Here is my post IAE fleet pic.
Two things changed. My MSR became a Redeemer and I closed out my Zeus MkII MR chain.
Given the second IAE video, the Eclipse is likely, in the future, to become a Hammerhead. The ridiculous number of bugs and general performance has me seriously thinking about turning my F7C MkII back into a Sabre. And, so far, I'm not impressed by the Zeus Mk II ES (the loaner for the MR) and that may, or may not wind up as something else, time will tell.
What is yours?

Well, I managed to keep my spending down to $50 total this year for a few WB CCUs, but pairing those with some existing ones and a LOT of other CCU melting/swapping, I've got things pretty well situated now and I only need $100 for some old LTI buyback tokens to make the full fleet look like this:

The only slight question is the Odyssey, which could potentially be a Perseus, Odyssey, or A2, but other than that I'm pretty happy. Got Vanguard, 'Deemer, and Polaris w/fighters for fighting, Arrastra for mining, BMM for shipping, Carrack & 600iE for exploring, MR, MSR, and Phoenix for Daily Driver duties, and the modular Galaxy for 'else.' I think this lets me cover most of the bases other than salvage, and is also a nice mix of solo/small crew/medium crew options.

Thank you guys for making me NOT feel like the only easily fooled nerd with bad spending habits.
That being said, here comes the family picture:

I got an Update Ironclad -> Hercules M2 -> Ironclad Assault on my hands. Gotta wait until the Ironclad drops. Then we'll see. But as long as she doesn't completely disappoint that ticket is gonna get redeemed. Even if it's simply because of those beautiful Test colors...

I walked away with $60, which is $10 more than I should have spent, and $50 more than I would have spent if I hadn't decided to try to play, and discovered how much I hate the cargo loop they envision, especially trying to load the MSR.

New money spend: Zero €$, no new money 'till Pyro plus 1 year
Store credit spend: quite a few €$

As originally planned, the C8R is now the Medical Turtle
Also as planned, made the F7C into a F7C-R (Mk II , but that's not on the Hangar Viewer Thingie yet)
Not quite as planned, I took the Corsair out of my fleet (that part was planned, I got an Aquila and don't need more explorers) and turned it into a Paladin (I like the idea of a gunship and I want one)

I didn't spend a penny :glorious:
I melted some stuff, as usual, and applied some old CCUs, incl. the one I got from my old buddy @Blind Owl ; )

I still have M2 to Odyssey CCU. I ran out of store credits, but if it turns out that Odyssey is cooler than Polaris as a long-range ship capable of transporting small ship in the hangar and heavy vehicle in the cargo hold, I will melt my Polaris, build the MISC exploration ship, and use store credits to purchase additional small specialized spacecraft, land claims, etc.

Haven't spent anything, but have been working on re-organizing my fleet and melting stuff and consolidating.

So this is what i'm currently either have or am working towards (waiting for it to be on store)

Gameplay loop is mining, cargo running, base building.

btw anyone have any ccu's that downgrade from merchantman into the 550 dollar range? and are they even tradable?

reason is i have merchantman, but there aren't really any ships i want above that range.... but i can still save a bunch if i can get a bit lower. (can downgrade to carrack but that's not low enough to get arrastra cheap - unless it goes up in price )

Mmmm, not sure that's *entirely* true. Back in ~2019 You could have bought say, a $90 CCU from the BMM (was $350 back then) to a $440 Prowler, and if you did wouldn't it still be 'applicable?' Now you'd have had to have spent that $90 in cash on it for it to be giftable, and even in anyone did by now they'd almost certainly have melted a CCU now worth -$210, but I still say in theory it might be possible!

i was in a similar situation and ended up turning my merchantman into a Perseus. the upgrade was $25 store credit. i thought it was a reasonable trade. as for getting a downgrade, its going to be very tough, most got melted when the merchantman wen up in price not to mention it would have needed to be a cash upgrade to be tradeable.

Also any of the old downgrades in buy back are no longer giftable.

Hey there! Here's my fleet: https://www.starship42.com/u/20241204/Bzjr4dSp.jpg (I can't get the image to paste into this forum, so this is a web link to it).

I've been 'laying low' during SC's Alpha as I've progressively accumulated ships over the past decade while taking on some rather challenging career choices.

But don't count me out. As a long-time MMO player and original Wing Commander fan, I'm looking forward to Star Citizen as my 'early retirement job', and being a big part of TEST Squardon!

Looking for someone to lead or support a substantial multi-crew ship event? Or someone to simply fly as part of a fighter escort? Count me in! Cheers!

Nice simple but comprehensive fleet Sintha. No one actually needs 500 ships you can only fly one! :D

Melting it would only get you the money you put in.
For example my Retaliator Bomber, if I were to buy it today, is $300 (but the modules only have 10 years insurance and the CCU value is only $175) the melt value is $205.

EDIT: Made changes to the changes 10 December

Here it is, as it stands for now.

ADDED: Paladin

REMOVED: BMM (temp only, it always makes it back in as a $250 original pledge)
Hurricane (became Paladin as I didn't have a gunship)

FUTURE: Galaxy will probably go away to become Starlancer-BLD (Bought Galaxy for building purposes only)
BMM return (BMM, BMM...)
Addition of Arrastra, possibly instead of Orion? Maybe in addition, I dunno and usually drink heavily to decide...
Intrepid will most likely go away to become store credit at some point
