Thanks for posting this! I just got a new X-56 and now I begin the hours-long process of mapping it to actually do stuff. These images will help! :)

It's a nice stick. I had an X-52 back in the day, and then an X-65 which I didn't like. The X-56 is a nice though so far.

CIG doesn't have any presets, and the X-55 presents seem to totally suck IMO. I have about 3 hours into trying to program all the buttons and sliders to things that might make sense so far. :)

Me too! I got it to replace my x55. So far I love the 2 additional analog sticks.

One of the things that I've found most useful is using "directional axis" for quickly manipulating shields. I have them bound to the top and bottom rotational knobs on the throttle. It works like a dream. I'm also experimenting with using the new stick on the throttle and various button configurations to replace EVA and non-combat FPS.

Cool, I'll give that a shot. I haven't set up things like shields yet, I've just been trying to get it so I can fly it without running into stuff, target enemies and shoot.

(Before now, I was a M+KB user, so I'm new to SC HOTAS _and_ I have a HOTAS that doesn't have a decent in-game config. So I'm learning what I like and don't like as far as control positioning).

One thing I noticed - SC seems to ignore the programmed settings. So if I change the hat switches to send keyboard presses, somehow SC is still detecting that it came from the joystick, and it's ignoring the keypress.

Or maybe I'm just an incompetent user and I think the profile has taken effect when it really hasn't. But it looks like the profile is active, and yet SC refuses to see the keypresses and instead sees joystick action.

Do these new keyboard mess with the HCS voicepacks at all? I knew the voice packs are set up via the original key binds, so I'm curious to know if I'll be playing with/adjusting them when I get home.

What I did was map most of the Keys to my Combat Stick, and then did not have to worry about voice attack.
