Good day everyone. I need to substitute my current X370 MB as it got fried. This is my setup:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: MSI X370 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
Storage: Kingston SSDNow M.2 120 GB M.2-2280 SATA Solid State Drive
Video Card: Zotac MINI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6 GB Video Card
Power Supply: Mars Gaming MPII650 650 W ATX Power Supply

Seek advice on a MB replacement. Key requirements are, in this order: cheap, compatibility with the old parts (obviously), cheap, some *"future proofing"* (I know, I know...), specially since the next upgrade will be a much needed better GPU, did I mentioned cheap?

Thanks a lot.

Do you need only 1 PCIe 16 slot? from what i read your current board has 3 x16 and 1 x1 slot but from your setup i only see 1 video card no sound cards or on board storage devices. If this is the case and you are just trying to get back on your feet until you do a complete rebuild(your system is a bit behind current market not worth upgrading you need a full rebuild) here are some recommendations for the following

2x16 pcie slots 1x1 pcie

to many PCIe slots this is mostly for SLI etc

you shouldnt need anything fancy if you are just holding out for greener pastures. Hell maybe even look for something used on newegg they had some boards at like 70 usd used like new. just make sure you look for X370 chipset AM4 socket with at least 2 slots for ram since you only have 2 sticks. with AMDs new chipsets and release of DDR5 it may be time to just upgrade instead of wasting the 160 on a new motherboard. you can make some really nice builds for next to nothing that would destroy what you are running atm. are you 100% sure your chip is still ok? if a motherboard fries it can take out the chipset also or impare it due to overheating.

Dunno much about AMD compatibility, so I'm not gonna recommend a new product. Rather, I'd look into the used market, sometimes you can grab a mobo with a better cpu for cheap enough to warrant a little bit of extra spending compared to grabbing a brand new mobo.
From the above recommended, gigabyte has been a solid choice for me for the past 10 years , Asus a bit less so.

Hi Sirus. I don't plan to do SLI, so a single PCIe x16 will do fine. I've been recomended an Asus TUF Gaming B450M Plus-II on reddit, which seems to be available in my country (Spain) way cheaper than the X370. I'd love to do a complete rebuild, but that's out of the question right now. Just want my desktop up and running.

The B450 works to if i remember right you can't overclock on a B450 though like you could on the x370 so if you were overclocking you can't now(which is probably best for an older CPU). i was worried the B450 wouldnt be compatable but looks like that guy already did the homework for you. I'm surprised there are no bundled packages (CPU+MB) that are cheaper. maybe you can find a 3000 series with mb for a good price sometimes using older tech will cause you to pay more in the long run so keep your mind open and look for deals on combo packs also.

Ryzen 5 4600 going for 101 usd

GIGABYTE Motherboard B450 AORUS M AM4 AMD B450 going for 80 usd

total of 181 usd together.

I'm not sure how much the asus tuff is but just throwing out some ideas it would be a big performance boost and still compatible with all your other components.

Wasn't and don't plan to OC, so that's not an issue. Biggest pressure comes from my limited budget.

Anyway, just remembered I got a full home insurance with my brand new mortgage, so I filed a claim for "electrical damages"... *crosses fingers*.

I completely understand just trying to make sure you get what you deserve instead of paying more for old tech.

Late to the party, but this link will show you what players are using (CPU and GPU).

I'll be happy to just get my computer up and running. Maybe in a couple years I'd look for a new setup that falls into the "recommended" bracket...

If I had a spare 370 board I'd send it to you but I don't sadly. Maybe facebook marketplace be good to pick up a board local to you?

The prices of everything I've looked at seem to be rather inflated, but slowly coming back to earth. I'm going to wait for a few months before I actually buy anything., and just save some money to do the upgrades I need. Hopefully.

Hello again people. My insurance finally covered the damahed MB, so I'm ready to purchase a new one. Budget is around 100€.

Been eyeing the Gigabyte B550M DS3H. ¿What do you think about it? The PCI 4.0 slot, two nmvs slots and no-CPU q-flash are really cool features for 102€.
