The Connie is also much more of a missile boat, having many times the missiles of the redeemer.

i think the redeemer will shine when fully crewed. When soloing or duoing, the Connie will be slightly better. When both are fully crewed and used correctly, both will be good ships.
I wouldn't count a duo Connie as a much greater force. It's far larger and has a lot of things that can go wrong. If something catches fire or power routers blow then one of those two will have to be running around to do damage control. It's large enough that a dedicated engineer should be required during combat.

The Redeemer is small in comparison. The turret gunner may need to get out for fires, but they should be contained easily.

Was supposed to be a pocket drop ship too and now they removed the drop seats wondering how many marines you can still drop with the ship.
She is a gunship these days, so the only marines you'll be dropping will be those of our enemies as you chew their corpses into powder...🍻

But your pants got tighter. 😉
I'm sorry...pants? I...I think I remember some sort of leg coverings from the before-fore, but we have grown past the need for such foolry...

  • Top Manned Turret - Twin S5 Ballistic Gatlings
  • Bottom Manned Turret - Twin S5 Ballistic Gatlings
  • Rear Remote Turret - Twin S3 Laser Cannons
  • Front Remote Turret - Twin S3 Laser Cannons
  • Pilot controlled Wing Mounts - 2x S4 Ballistic Repeater (fixed by default)
  • Pilot controlled missiles - 4x S4 Racks (Quad S2 by default per rack, integrated under intakes)
This is very interesting, putting aside the heavy firepower thet is at pilot disposal ( 2x S4 is double the firepower of the Vanguard basically) there are a lots of weapon that currently duesn't exit:
S5 Ballistic Gatling and S4 Ballistic repeater are really interesting weapon and I feel we need them now, since on S4 and S5 class there is a consistence shostage of choices when it came to ballistic weapon.
Also wonder how many round will have the S4 ballistic repeater at disposal: S1 is 360, S2 240, S3 120... if that is the tread the I'll expect the S4 ot have 60... freaking short of juice... very very short.
It will probably be good when phisicalized damage come into play but for now is a dump.

I actually like the look of the redeemer I am glad I picked it up in the sale to go into my buy backs. I like the looks of it more than the original concept and it is bristling with weapons. the 2 medium computers mean you should be able to slave 2 turrets to pilot too!

It's the kinda ship i use as my daily drive just to go to the shops on arccorp, no ones gonna mess with you in the parking lot!

Upsides: I'm liking the sleeker look. Also glad to see they focused the ship's mission and removed the dropseats.

Downsides: I'm still not a huge fan of the nutcracker engines (though I guess they balance out the ship shape artistically).

Ideally, both would be fully crewed, but if you only had 2 people, the Connie will be the more powerful ship (when used against larger targets, not fighters). The pilot controls the main weapons, missiles, etc. With only 2 S4 weapons and a small number of missiles for the Redeemer, it‘s has a lot less firepower when the 2nd person is busy outside a turret. The ‘deemer also bigger than before, so it will still be a big target. I think it will end up being bigger than the vanguard.

That said, the redeemer will be a heck of a ground support ship with 4xS5 guns on turrets, much better than a Connie can. If it has the people to do it, the ‘deemer will be able to put a heck of a lot of sustained metal or energy on a target while the pilot circles (not hovers) from a decent range. It can then land and still be able to support ground operations.

As for fires, I plan on going into combat with the ship under vacuum conditions (If allowed and the crew has enough time). No O2, no fire

I also believe that when it goes flight ready, it will REALLY jump up in price...maybe even up to 350 USD, and a slight possibility of even higher, so those thinking about getting it when flight ready might consider getting one sooner.

i am not knocking the Redeemer, just saying you will need at least 3 crew to take advantage of a lot of the firepower it has.

I am glad they found a role for the ship even if it had to lose some functionality in the process. When I heard that the nutcracker engines swivel to give it hovering capabilities I realized it's going to be a great companion to the Valkyrie.

In fleet battles, it's going to be very effective in providing extra cover for bomber wings more so then the MIS. It will be interesting to see in a head to head battle between the Redeemer and MIS who comes out on top. Right now my money is on the MIS given its forward-facing firepower and missile armament but I am not yet counting out the teeth on the Redeemer.

All in all I am happy with what they did with the Redeemer and glad it now has a focused role.

I'm not sure it is versatile enough to keep anymore. I wanted those marine seats, which could be swapped for prisoner accommodations.

The good news is they are finally going to get a Size 5 gun for my Vanguard that is worth a damn.

Based on the Hammerhead Q&A, you can slave 4 turrets (Or have them as automated point defense) with two medium computers.

i must say its giving me a Crusader feel more than Aegis, its a very nice desgin though
If I was part of the redesign team for the Redeemer to bring it closer into the Aegis styling, the 1st thing that I'd do is to shift the shape of the cockpit more in line with the Vanguards shape. In the walkway behind the pilot's seat, have a floor panel that opens to access the front manned turret seat. Behind there would be a pair of command stations to control the systems as well as the non-manned turrets with the upper manned turret access point being between them. I'd use the opposite wall for the beds for the crew & allow the underbelly of the ship to hold a modest amount of storage as well as having the flooring of the crew quarters to allow access to the ship's components that will be between there & the limited storage area. Like some of the images that I've seen, I'd cause the small "wings" that separate the vector thrusters from the hull to have the styling of the Vanguard intakes. All of which should help bring it enough into the Aegis style guide while still allowing for the wonderful quirkiness aspects to remain. As for those discs along the top behind the cockpit, I love those. The remind me of the Matrix ships. So I'd give the Redeemer 1 additional twist. I'd remove it's missiles to replace them with 4 EMP generators contained in those discs. The catch would be that they can be used individually & be as powerful as that of the Hawk, in pairs to be as strong as those of the Raven or all together to be as strong as the Warlock. Any thoughts on this?

I was really happy to see those picture of info, but my little heart broke again when they say "not in active production" at the end.
For all i know we might see another reboot of it next year at the same time...
