RSI Perseus - First look!

I'm one of those people who still has problems figuring out the exact role of this ship, given other ships in my fleet. I will admit, it looks cool, and while I still think that 4 Ares would be a bit more useful, there is no denying that the Perseus will have a longer range, and the single ship will allow 4-6 players to more easily coordinate and fire on targets.

Plus, I realized another big bonus! It reminds me of my old Bismarck plastic ship model, LOL:

Agreed. Sometimes the top rated questions just make me facepalm. I watched this video yesterday, and also think he did a good job answering some easy ones. Wish CIG would ignore the easily looked-up ones.

It is slow, therefore I expect it not being agile.
Turrets with s7 look like they will have very limited coverage, with no way to fire back and up/down.
Put those two together and it seems like it will be mostly forward facing slow boat that might have issues with few smaller ships on it's tail.

Im going to get the CCU from a 600i, but Im not completely sold on it just yet. The Perseus is a perfect size for a small crew, it fits the role well, but I want to wait for the Q&A to learn a bit more.

HOLY SHIT I JUST BOUGHT ONE!! Yet to see if it gives you other ships until its ready. I'm still waiting on the BMM. Couldn't afford to buy one Warbond, so I melted my Carrack (again, since I had to to get the Best In Show paint). Now I have two "really biggie" ships!

Lol... I'd have to say, here, here, and here. You can use the Perseus to ram the ship at least once - @Montoya before it explodes. Not a solo ship... guess they can save the cheesy mission play another take. Can someone from Canada please draw a snow plow on the front end, so I can at least imagine it ramming.

I'm comfortable making this an "endgame" goal for me to get in game. I've never had much of a desire for the logistics of running a capital ship like the Idris, Javelin, or Kraken. Don't like torpedoes enough to want a Polaris. But this is small enough to run with 4 people, has enough dakka to rip anything short of an Idris in half, and is a great escort ship for an actual capital.


Not worth melting half my stuff for but I'll definitely shoot for one in game.

Like a few others, this ship I'm going to try to earn in the game. It just seems to me I don't need it now.... I have too much to fly
