9/10 would go to hell with doom guy. Easilly my best game to date. It does DOOM series justice. Last doom game was 1994 and its a direct sequel. Would purge hell again.

Do it, its a great game. I actually played Doom 1/2 right before this one and its great transition.

Hm, I'm not really into egoshooters, but over here in Europe there are some more critical voices who speak about boring gameplay, no surprises or highlights as well as - after a short while - useless, repetitive killing scenes, giving the game a 7/10 for its graphics and design.

Thats the style of game though. Its not a thriller or survival game. The storyline is very short and basic. Its all about wanton violence. There are about 4-6 kill animation per enemy which is more than any other one. Considering most games have 1 maybe 2 kill kill animation so it easilly triples most games kill animation. Even then kill animations shouldnt be a hit as they are just that kill animations. The truth is that the game story is supposed to be between wolfenstein in which you had more realistic story with advancrd nazi science taken to the limit. The player is a honor bound soldier with stringent rulss. On the other side is duke nukem which is over the top storyline and a bigger-than-life cocky bastard who respects no authority. Doom is in the middle where its a sci fi game with its own limits, while the character is a good soldier who respects orders only when they make sense but is still is over the top.
