I'm barely Australian if i'm honest. When I was 6 I moved to the Middle East (Dubai) for my folks work, spent 16ish years over there, and have been back in Aus for a few years. Sydney for while, now Brisbane. I was born here though... in Townsville of all places o_O
Never been to SA though. What beer/wine should I try from SA?
Guess it just means your well travelled, glad to have you back in the country! Suppose you should start with Coopers beer and Penfold wine, no shortage of either from this state. Surprised you have heard of the Farmers Union Ice coffee....thought it was more of a SA thing and the rest of you states had Dare and all that other crap! LOL  Wont hold it against you though!

My comment was an erection joke but ok.

So first of all i've been a bar tender for the last 3 years (recently decided to out of bartending, am looking for another job) and yes you can kind of make cold lattes.
Secondly... what the frack is that coffee? I'm totally bewildered.... is it like... milk, with a shot pressed on top, with creme? #confused

Back to cold lattes. I'm a massive cold coffee guy, and in my experience the best way to do cold coffee is to press the coffee (I have an espresso machine at home), pour it over ice into a cocktail shaker, add sugar to taste and a little bit of vanilla essence. Shake that shit, shake it hard because you'll get some air through the milk in the shaker, strain and serve, no ice needed, and don't add ice cream, I hate those gross cafe style ice coffees with ice-cream and cream and syrup. Thats a lie. I don't hate them, they're delicious, I just don't drink them. Point is using a cocktail shaker fluffs up the milk, like I've you've ever had a well made espresso martini? It won't be smooth and velvety like a good latte, but its definitely my favourite way to drink coffee.
Thats the good thing at coffee: there is not the *ONE* way to make it right. There barely is some drink (or else) in the world which has sooo much variants to...whats the word for it? To prepare...to build...whatever.
That said, the above linked picture is a "classic"/basic Latte Macchiatto here in Germany: lots of milk, shot of espresso, milk froth. Especially in 08/15 cafés i.e. within railway stations you have to make sure to order an extra shot espresso; otherwise you'll become a glas of milk with espresso flavour (which differs significantly from the pic above) ;)

Since not everybody has a cocktail shaker at home, I'm totally fine to brew coffee, refrigerate it and serving it lateron with ice cubes, vanilla ice and a shot of cold milk. Is an eye catcher and tastes most delicious - to me.

Yeah was abit of a text barrage but atleast your learnered in the workings of my mind, its quite a complicated thing dont you know!
Your mind? Well, yes, I figured out that for myself in the meantime :D ;) Speaking about the pizza, I wrote of ordering for the family, not for my own. Before the time of minimum wages, the max prize of a pizza here was about 9, 10 EUR (starting at 4, 5 Euro). Now 9 Euro is the minimum prize; 12, 13 you'll normaly pay. Means, if you are ordering for two kids and two parents, you are at least paying 40 Euro. And for that price, I can feed the family for two days - including breakfast, lunch and supper.

wooohoooo....Crucible LTI in the garage! Yet another expensive Jpeg, which they would get some of my ships hanger ready atleast! Dont think the crucible can be that far off as I think it was whiteboxed at the start of the year!
Congrats. Did you buy all your ships at the grey markets?

Most of them from the grey market, the Banu I picked up from a fellow member offloading. End of the day whereever I can get a decent price is where I go like most people.

As for the pizza issue, yes I understand your delmar, but you cant begrudge the pizza workers a reasonable wage for doing their thing, that have to live as well. I guess in the end your children are an investment for when they get older, you can turn up on their doorstep and move in for the pampering they received growing up. Invest in a pizza now and they will buy you a SC ship later......thats good economics!

Hahaha....no, I will try to avoid that they're becoming a computer addiction just like I have.

And looking to the pizza workers: I'm living based on the philosophy "No fate" - nobody is forced to work for little money. You want more? Than you gotta cheat or earn. I'm no cheater, therefore I gotta work - and earn. I've studied in evening school besides having family and a job, hardest time I ever had. No fun, no free time for years. Cost me pretty much, even health. But nowadays I've my own income, can spend my money, which is of quite okay amount. You want to make pizza for small money and having more free time? Okay for me - but I definitely don't want to hear complaints about low income. I'm allergic to that. A colleague of mine, for instance, grew up with divorced parents, mother working in a bar and being on drugs. She decided not to end like this. She worked hard ever since, went to evening schools, worked, studied, lost her only child, crashed, stood up again, and finally became branch manager of different companies. Tough girl she is.
You want to earn more money? Then stop complaining, set yourself a goal and work towards it. Work hard - and you will reach it.
Nothing more to say about that.

P.S.: thats not adressed to you @Mog_No_1 but to complaining pizza workers ;)

Im not a pizza worker so I didnt take it personally! Very true, work hard, upskill and your halfway there. Is no guarantee that a University degree will get you anywhere in life though as its just a piece of paper and some of those with degree probably end up in the pizza shops and are the ones complaining about the wages. I find if you work hard and work smart the world is your oyster. Trying to get some of my coworkers to understand this is sometimes a battle but there is a reason I'm the highest paid service plumber in my company. Sometimes what I say just goes in one ear and out the other.

I got the latte joke. Hell, Sam started this thread with a latte joke!

And that way of making an iced coffee sounds delicious! I'm pulling out my shaker and trying that!!! I don't have an espresso machine though.

At least someone did! I read the first like... 3 lines of the OP, stopped reading and just went straight to making a dick joke.
Honestly its got to be the best way to drink coffee. A little bit of brown sugar, a little bit of vanilla. Oh damn. If it wasn't 1am here down under i'd go make one right now. I have this 10% strong ale I found though so i'm good for taste beverages

Yeah, well, wasn't my best morning this Monday. Hell, this morning I nearly was ran over by a car, because I took the cars green light as the walkers green light. Lucky me, the driver in the car watched me instead of the green light....wait...why did he do that?

5.30 p.m. - gotta go home now. Have a nice day!

9 a.m., the sun is shining - again. The south is drowning - ongoing.
Anyway, a little bit of pressure awaits me in the office. But I can handle it for I decided to go to the gym early during the morning hours. Whereas at lunchtime you can't breath there, early at 6 or 7 o'clock its wonderful empty in the gym, filled with fresh air :) Sunday I went for a run, but again my knee hurt. So therefore more cardio within gym and less running. But since a doc told me that the knee has to be...whats it called? Excercised? Well, in other words: you have to do sports, even if it hurts, otherwise your knee becomes stiff. Therefore I will try to run a couple of kilometers this evening again.
Long story short: I've already done sports, am relaxed and will now start into this working day.
Have a nice one!
Sam ;)

5am here. Posting some goofy videos before work.
Nice to be missed, but I'm still around. Don't always get notifications when threads are updated, not sure why. Good thing I'm hiding in the bushes outside everyone's house! (kidding, but you better check just to be on the safe side)
