Seems ships are still very floaty when they are supposed to have 'landed' and ships tip up for no seemingly no reason once on the ground. Maybe all our ships have big butts and we cannot lie? I've found it best to not even try landing on the ground all the way and make contact unless its at a pad I can auto land. Instead I get almost to the surface and then cut engine power completely and let the ship drop on its own weight and then immediately get out.

Seems to be working well.

Btw any of you that turn your ship over after landing. Good luck getting it right up again. Thrusters don't like you. Its happened to me several times until I did the above on all my ships.

Anyone have other tips?

I've noticed that if you land and then you take off it removes the sensitivity reduction when landing gear is down (i.e it forgets the gear is down) - if you put your gear up, and then back down again you get the reduced sensitivity on all axis which makes it much easier to land!

The reason the ships are floaty when landed is the shield that interfere and push the ship around as far as I seen and heard.
And as some already said turning of power or engine after landing will make it stay tho on some pads it will still move sideways very slow..

Think they are well aware of this and made a small ajustement before releasing it to live but IMO it wasn't enough it still does it but not always..

So I always land then cut power seem to work best if I am to leave the ship if I plan to keep going I just turn of engine and shield and it seem to be stable where I left it when coming back

CHEERS! :beers:

Strange I use autoland all the time works just awesome

BUT yeah there is but... I had to reassign it to a different key than landing gear is on ;)

Happened to me a couple of times at Daymar outposts. I use my thrusters that lower the ship. Which would raise in this situation. It worked most of the time. Although once it sent my ship into a spin which destroyed it.
We're gonna fondly look back on these goofy times, one of these years. and laugh.
