Wildfires are common because they could be bought during that old anniversary sale with RSI credit.
Which means it should be easy getting it for an LTI hornet and when applying this $20 CCU, you'll be a SH variant with better weapons and better components.
Or if you have a spare super hornet already or spare F7C... now's a good time to get a CCU to the heartseeker variant.

if not get the cheap CCU now and worry about getting the base ship later.

I've got a F7C to super hornet upgrade sitting in my hangar, now I'm thinking about getting the heartseeker, but I only have one hornet. We get one when we finish SQ42 right? Will we still be able to apply upgrades then?

Specs, avionics, propulsion, coolers, thrusters, and missile loadouts are identical.

The SH has the standard skin, S Regulus power plant, and 2x S AllStop shield generators. For weapons it has a gimbaled S2 M4A laser cannon on each wing, a gimbaled twin-pair of S1 CF-007 Bulldog laser repeaters on the nose/canard turret, and a gimbaled twin-pair of S2 CF-117 Badger laser repeaters on the top/dorsal turret.

The Heartseeker has the special skin with the pin-up nose art and red detailing, S Sunflare power plant, and 2x Forcewall shield generators. For weapons, it has three fixed S3 M5A laser cannons, one on each wing, and one on the nose, and one fixed S4 M6A laser cannon on the top/dorsal mount.

I think that if I had 1 of these white with red & black trim Super Hornets, I would replace the 3 M5A laser cannons with 3 DR XJ3 & replace the M6A with a CF-447 Rhino. Use the Distortion repeater laserss to shred the shields to nothing before opening fire with the Rhino repeater laser. That being said, I believe that the stock loadout of the Heartseeker Super Hornet is definitely an upgrade for the skilled / talented pilot since they would be better able to stay on target without the use of gimbals. Going into checking on this, I was caught by surprise that there are no versions of the Hornet that are regularly available. As common as they are seen, I always figured the standard model would be. Go figure, I'm wrong again. LoL

HORNET, yes.
...SUPER HORNET, no.


**edit - I think all the hornet variants are regularly available, just not the F7C-M Super Hornet.
