What will be the first thing you do first person in SC? I myself plan on filling up the ol' Starfarer and ramming a large ship in first person.

DK2 resolution is 960x1080

Vive is 1200x1080, which is better, but not by much.

The CV1 has been speculated to be 1280x1440, we shall have to wait and see.

so it's two 1200x1080 screens, and the OR is (rumored) to have one 2560x1440?

I think Vive wins, especially if you can get an SLI/Crossfire setup to get one GPU to render each screen seperately.

Ever since I got my first HTC phone I was hooked. So, the Vive may be for me.
The only question I have is... At such a close distance to ones eyes will 2560x1440 be that much better than 2400x1080. I get the whole idea about seeing pixels up close but damn, How much is too much?

[edit] My monitor's are 5760x 1080 and that is a huge bit of property that I need to manage.

Space suit at 0:31 is Chig armor from Space: Above & Beyond.

It's crazy that I remembered that from 20 years ago. Good show for its time.

HL2 was one of the first games to support VR without 3rd party tools.
BBC: One of Valve's most famous games is the Half-life series, and I know there are millions and millions of gamers that are desperate for a new Half-life game to come out. Is the new Half-life going to be on the virtual-reality headset? Is that what Valve is going to do with this machine?

Cher Wang: I think Valve's best game is Dota, right, and Portal and [Team Fortress] and I think they are very keen to have them.

BBC: But how about Half-life - is that going to be on there?

Cher Wang: We are co-operating with Half-life, and I think... I hope, you know, it will be on it.

HF3 confirmed!

I love to see more competition stepping up into the VR market. Competition breeds excellence, and healthy corporate competition really does help the consumer.

To paraphrase someone on reddit: "I have a lot more confidence in Valve making a better VR device for gaming than Oculus Rift/Facebook. Why? Because gaming is all Valve does. They have a much higher incentive to make it good and make it right."

I'll buy whichever one ends up being the best, but right now I'm leaning more towards Valve. I don't really trust facebook to not try and "integrate" gaming with social media.

I can't wait to play Half Life 3, then cash in my first Social Security check since I'll be about 65 before I get access to either one.
