Well I had 2 Nvidia cards break and none of my amd's. idk of I went lucky with those amd cards but since the last gforce broke I prefer the amd and they have never let me down
You also have to take into account for who manufactured the card, I personally have never had issues with evga but had one bad msi.

I treat my computer with care. I'm not some abusive, drunk wife-beater.

We won't be sure about that until you get a wife

I had expected AMD to have 12_1 support for their latest.

No matter how much their vp says it doesn't matter, he doesn't realize the reason why a lot want 12_1: product longevity.

Planned obsolescence is bullshit.

With that said, if 12_1 turns out to be nVidia exclusive, there will be such a shitstorm...
AMD had DirectX 11.2 cards while nVidia for the longest time (years, not months) had only DirectX 11 from the start.

Did anyone nottice?
NOPE !!

See?

Why not read what is the true difference in Dx 12 vs Dx 12.1 instead.

Maybe then you will truly see.

But I agree. Why not have it all when you are buying.
It it has worse FPS and it does not have 12.1, why buy it right?
Maybe to safe loads of cash?

AMD is in trouble. Even Fury X can't compete with 980 Ti.
Sad.

Comparing the two in detail.
The silicone of Fury X should downright kill the 980 Ti.
I blame AMDs ass stinking drivers, but time will tell.

Well nVidia has much faster memory and more raster output units than AMD.
But AMD has better bus width and almost 2x the shader units. It will still be the parallelization tasks king, like mining for Bitcoins and science computing.

I think the Fury X is competitive on directx 12. That's the main selling point.

On top of that, drivers have yet to reach full optimization.

Lmao the drivers are pretty much non existent you mean.
My point still stands, Horizonz, you can laugh about it all you want, but once DirectX 12 is locked in and Microsoft draws down on DX12 development, AMD will be able to update their drivers more readily.

Direct X 12 isnt going to do anything, the gaps are going to stay the same.. More and more DX12 results and marks come out every day, and if you look at them you see the exact same pattern. Nvidia cards just have more performance than AMD. ( in dx12 as well )
I've been using AMD cards for the past 3 or 4 years now until last week so i've always supported them since I have had a PC, but until they step there game up im done.

Wow, you have far more restraint than me. I was up til about 4 AM building my current computer. I think I dropped screws on my motherboard about 50 times.

I am waiting until nVidia cards get 8 Gb of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM).
nVidia exec said they are not doing cards with it until the process is more mature.

So basically they are letting AMD perfect it for them free of charge. :)

Lol that's the way to do it my son!
Just as long as you don't ping a capacitor off with the screwdriver it'll be grand ;)
