No, quite the opposite in fact.If you already have a BMM and Odyssey, the Galaxy would be overlap correct? I'm trying to compare them all...
Now, my statements here are based solely on the purported information posted here on the Test site.
your Odyssey is an exploration class chip that has room for a size small (Buc, Sabre, Hornet, 300 series, etc.) and has a capability of mining and refining it’s own fuel.
your BMM is a merchant vessel designed to transport cargo, but also to sell that cargo without other infrastructure. The only overlap the BMM has is that it can carry (a lot) more cargo.
But the Galaxy has combat, medical, and refueling (assumption...of others) as well as cargo, and it will expand. We might get refining and other industrial type modules as well.
so, IMO, the galaxy complements those two ships. Now, if you have a Perseus, Starfarer, C2, etc. as well, then you might have overlap. That said, I expect the dedicated ships to be more capable over this “Jack of all trades”
!! Serious, I agree with you, based on the very minimal information that has been gleaned so far. CIG has a violent aversion to ships that can genuinely perform well in a jack-of-all-trades role; personally I think they go overboard on that philosophy. As presented, the RSI Galaxy has a very large ability missing.. the hanger for a small ship, even something utilitarian like the Pisces. It's going to have to make up for that with something seriously good in another direction.
