Truth be told, I aways expect an Epilepsy warning to pop up every time I engage in Space Battle (TM).
Instead of all that Industrial Lights&Magic they might as well just put a diagram on an MFD that informs you of your attack efficiency.
Or is that too boring for the Tic-Toc generation?
Can't be, because if THAT was an issue then all the other timesinks (take a trainride dude) are death sentences in the eye of the quick-fix crowd.
Why couldn't they simply have the ship computer inform us in that nice power-on voice that " It seems your attacks fall flat" or "Jolly good, right in the noggins"?
They might sell it as a speech-add-on like they did with Wing-Commander.
As for game stability, they are doing their best I guess. Only thing is they got so many loose ends that it might be easyer to put Claude to work in reprogramming the whole thing before stitching together all the loose ends.
Sad to say but while I love SC to pieces I do believe they sourcecoded themselves into a corner from where there is no escape.
Even if the stop all new gameplay developments and put everything into fixing the holes the construct as a whole will never be truly stable. Especially not with the player counts CIG dreams of.
But that's just my personal impression and maybe the new planettech and starcloth and whatsnot will be so efficient that overflows and stutters are a thing of the past.
Damn...
Seems I'm running out of Copium (TM)...
