What your describing has a bit of an Arma 3 mixed with Battlefield fibe to it (which is what I think CR wants, so joepie!). If you'd like to do more then theory craft and actually gather up some soon to be doomed souls to participate, it could be an idea to try and get a group playing Arma, battlefield or something similar while keeping the focus on
strike team.
And when 3.0 is out you can add some SC action. (3.0 because of Star-network-thing)
The success of a group in Arma or Battlefield (and especially something like Squad) usually depends on the cohesion... Which in turn depends on the Squad Lead. Me point being, not really a point, really a number of questions...
how formal would you envision this strike team to be?
Would you have a traditional hierarchy that may go against the normal TEST belief?
Why
should we have a strike team, what benefits does it give (extra beer, more waffles, cool music?)
Though, I think the Yellow Jackets are already pretty close to this and I think individual (combat/strike/trade/pirating/freelancing) groups will form through friendship. For now its still wait and see, but speaking from past experience
(Used to have my own successful guild for Age of Conan, before it was out... we we're top guild for 3 weeks then we crumbled to dust) it usually turns out that people shift to different roles and play styles after a release.
So pretty much this:
theorycraft all you like, but be prepared to start over from scratch when the game goes live
