The translation is quite close
Sentai means "Unit" or "Squadron", but you can also use "テスト" as "Test", since the Japanese simply uses the romaji (romanized alphabet) for that word.

You could literally just call us

テスト 戦隊 (tesuto sentai)

In my experience, most people use "tameshi" to mean a trial on a personal level; a tribulation or actual court proceedings. The academic/scientific community usually uses 試験 (Shiken), since this often translates to an examination, test, or trial for research purposes.

Also, 試験 戦隊 "Shiken Sentai" has a nice ring to it.

I believe that Thom is right on the point, "Shiken Sentai" would be more fitting. When I speak Japanese "tameshi" is usually used when saying you want to try to do something or as stated previously a trial that you have to go through.
