It's actually French, not Chinese, supposedly. Although just by skimming through the positive reviews, at least half are AI genned botted bs, real people on steam don't write like that, and a lot of em are from refund reddit, openly shitting on star citizen because "this game has working elevators". They fail to mention that it doesn't have anything else to do then ride the elevator, but that is pretty clear from the rest of the reviews.
I'd very much like this if was a cheaper, simpler and more fun to play alternative to SC, but nothing that I saw came even close to convincing me to give it a try for free, let alone pay for it.
It's ugly, a bunch of random assets thrown together, everything still glitching all over the place from lighting to gunplay to enemies, traversal, non-existent flight-physics and so on...
I already have a buggy glitchy mess of a game to play, why would I want an inferior version of it too?
The studios X page still shows activity so it's not a dead game, although their FB seems to be blocked or dead as it wouldn't load for me.
Reading the reviews and looking at the trailer, this is more of an UE asset flip than a contender for the throne at this point than a game. Shallow, empty, it doesn't have it's own identity, full of glitches and bugs. Basically, everything that's in the above video IS the full content of the current game, there is no more to it.
It might get good if they can scale up to more people, and making their own stuff instead of just UE store-bought things... That literal "space F150" and the good ol 996 blobeye porsche was hilarious.
I don't think this will ever get anywhere, even though it is quiet impressive that they could force UE into doing this. There seems to be serious performance issue even on the highest end gamer PC's, which is not surprising as UE is notoriously bad at large-scale maps, and I highly doubt that a team of 5 has enough competency to sort out these serious issues in a couple of years.
TLDR.: play the demo, and do not pay for it as it contains everything there is to do already, unless you really really want to support the devs. This might tick away for a couple more years in development, but don't expect a starcitizen killer...
