I thank all of those currently making the sacrifice to serve us.

I remember those who have fallen.

I think of my grandad who flew a Lancaster bomber, dropping food parcels to starving people in WW2 with a tear in my eye!

For me, November 11 will always be Remembrance Day, and today is rather a unique one. On October 26, 100 years ago the Canada Corps, which included my paternal grandfather who was a machine gunner in the corps, went over the top and the Second Battle of Passchendaele began. His brigade was in the first wave, and they stayed in action throughout. The battle ended on November 10th. So, November 11th 1917, 100 years ago today, my grandfather experienced his first full day of rest since the battle began.

I would like to thank a couple people. The first that come to mind is the other veteran soldiers in my battalion that I have learned so much from, either from directly being taught or watching how they prepare and execute tasks. All my active duty, reserve, and veteran friends that pushed me into perusing the Army as a career, and to one of my best mates dads, who sadly lost his life to an IED attack when she was younger.

Thanks to all you others that have served, i'm working to join y'all.

I never thought my service in Viet Nam was nothing compared to you guys! I spent my time in Pensacola, FL, training helicopter pilots. for those of you that saw combat, I salute you!
I was inserted and extracted from some seriously hot places, and some of the feats of piloting those events required were the things of pucker factor 10 I am here to tell you. So for you and every helo flight instructor ever? I thank YOU. Had some in flight emergencies and a hard landing as well, and if those pilots were not properly trained by dedicated people in the rear, I would be dead. As would a lot of other guys. So you did your part, and then some.
