Hey bro, long time no see. I've been hoping that all has been going great for you, but figured that you've been too busy to bother with a silly message.

As for those "pearls" from the "sandworm", I'm suspecting the people that might end up specializing in cutting them down would be those that give circumcisions in RL. They'd fit right in here, because when they see those, they'll need a stiff drink or more. LoL
It's been crazy, thank you, miss you too

As a long-time 'Dune' fan, I'll admit to having mixed feelings of CIG including the Valakkar in Star Citizen. On one hand, sandworms are a classic idea and it appears that CIG has implement them in a super-cool way in game. Glad to see that in many regards. On the other hand, it seems like a shot at 'Dune Awakening', which features the sand worm as a key 'enemy' and is probably counting on that as a key draw to their game, which is centered on Dune. Couldn't CIG, with all of the funding, artists, and story-telling staff available to it, come up with something 'next' that feels more original? In the final analysis, it probably doesn't matter as when I'm playing Star Citizen I'm sure I will enjoy the Valakkar. Its just one of the many 'game design questions' we get to ponder for now.

all we've done here gamewise since 2013 is speculation and theorycrafting

I'm not psyched up any more, and I've learned more patience than I want to know

happily, the social aspects of TEST make the wait not only bearable, but fun

Yes, welcome back DG!

Watching that fight with the sandworm, I guess like other high level content it might be gated behind some rep, mission progression or gear check. But even so, is that a possible reason for players to keep a disposable alt character (one with few possessions, whose progression is unimportant) to join a group that otherwise passes the gate criteria for the mission, to take on tasks with a high risk of death like driving the ground vehicle? If you don’t want your main and its precious gear being swatted or sand blasted multiple times during the battle, and inching closer to perma-death and inheritance tax for their successor, bring a character who doesn’t matter with the group. Maybe the gate will apply to all party members, or all players present.

Or you can offer the players hazard pay bonus

The one question I still have is this:

What did the "Leader" add to the StarHunt™ for the StarWorm™?
Why would any "Leader" put on special StarWear™ Leader clothing for a StarHunt™?

All the other roles I can see, they have sense and value. You need a pilot, and there is a place for a driver.
Snipers and heavy weapons, sure, that's just good planning, and I remember needing different sets of equipment
when I was designated machine gunner as opposed to rifleman, so that tracks, too.

What sense does the "Leader" make? Yes, you need a guy to get a group together, bla bla bla, but that's not supported by game mechanics.
Do I need a "Leader" because no one else can send group invites or what? Do only "Leaders" get to divide the loot?

Make the "Leader" make sense for me, please, because I can't see one.
