The Vulture is on the floor at DefenseCon and is open for people to walk through it.

It looks really good.

you can use the ladder to get up to the cockpit without going through the main hull

The storage compartment. Doesn't look that big, so don't expect to be able to store a lot of salvaged goods. That said, we don't know how much unprocessed material it can hold internally

Here is where you turn the salvage into SCU bales of scrap

Careful to not be in the cab without a pressure suit. If you "exit" using the exit button, you end up outside the ship sucking vacuum

I was hoping it was in our hangers but not quite yet, I climbed all over it then ran down to the ship terminal to look. I wish there was a second tab that shows us only the ships we own (and flyable) and not the "loaner" ships. The only loaner I use is a second Prospector parked at a refinery station...or if i'm feeling cheap i'll fly a loaner on long trips and not pay for juice.

Is that trash compactor thing going to produce a box full of your salvage to unload? Seems like thats the purprose.

yep! That's the Wall-E box. Put salvaged materials in, and it compacts it down into 1 SCU units of scrapfor you to sell.

Remember though, you are also supposed to be able to salvage things like powerplants, weapons, coolers, etc., not just the hull material. So go in, pull the stuff out and tractor it back into your cargo bay to take back to Dumper's Depot for a sale. I suspect scrap will be the least profitable item a vulture can take, while components will be the most valuable.

I had a look at the Vulture yesterday.

While I knew it would have large "arms" at the front, for some reason they seemed much bigger that I was expecting.

I bought a Vulture warbond CCU when it was on sale, mostly to whet my appetite for when salvage capability is added to the Reclaimer. The barebones industrial look suits both. Does anyone else think it looks like a Star Wars Episode 1 pod racer though?

That's a good CCU to pick up... The ship should release by the end of the year, with most likely a $10-$15 price increase, improving the CCU's value for chains - Instead of saving $10 as you do now, it will be a $20-$25 saving once Vulture releases.

I'm planning to grab a few more tomorrow (I wish it was possible to order more than 1 per purchase, like non WB CCU's allow).
