Well let's be fair, Hollywood doesn't produce anything, with very few exceptions, original for decades.

Fair point. I just watched a screening of The Last of the Mohicans (1992) at the Egyptian Theatre in LA and man….they sure don’t make movies like they used to. Nary a green screen in sight!
