Webcams are hot again (?) - Microsoft rumored to release new webcams in 2019

Just saw this article a couple of days ago. Seems weird to me, there has be no movement on webcams for about 5 years, now all of a sudden they seem to be a hot item again.
At least we should have more quality choices for FOIP, and hopefully lower prices (so I can buy more ships, of course!)

I just need something for recording instructional videos and virtual meetings at work. Right now using a Logitec 920 that isn't really cutting it. And, yeah I need to update my cell phone too... geez.

That is precisely why I am so very glad my teenage years landed in the 90's. I can't imagine how different my life would have been if every person I knew walked around at all times with a video camera that could upload and share footage in minutes... All that stupidity carefully recorded and cataloged for all eternity.

I wonder if these will perform better than the Razer Kiyo I have, but haven't used yet since my content ideas have been put on hold.

Edit: Just reread the article now that caffeine has kicked in, 4k webcam sounds sweet, and the Xbox integration is definitely a plus as well! I wonder if there is some ambient lighting on it?

Actually that there’s been no update since this trips my caution alarm. There may be a very good reason that no other established camera provider has the output claimed by faceware.

In this it might be wise to not pre-order
