Well last year was different to the year before so heh they may do something different again. Generally speaking most ships do not have LTI but will have 5 years insurance (well it was 4 last year and 3 the year before). Where LTI was offered previously was new concept sales or ship packages including new concepts or packages over $1000 dollars. Last year they did each manufacturer having a day and then a free for all at the end. Note some ships like the Polaris were not included. The year before they did use packages so you had a industrial fleet for instance. The videos they put together last year were quite good especially drake and no doubt they are still there on you tube for those interested.

They have been floating around the idea of removing 0ccu so it will be interesting to see if things change.

Hey folks!

Will be the first occurence of a sale for me, so i was digging up some infos here and there. Can someone confirm or improve the following:

- LTI "tokens" are cheap ships with LTI on it, which can be upgraded through the hangar matrix into another available ship
-- available ships get expanded/introduced by the sales for a short amount of time
--- some sales come with LTI, it's not known which ones beforehand
--- the ships on sale are sequenced from day to day, so we need to catch the one we want and be aware?
--- all sales will get a massive stretch in ensurance months (4 years speculated?)
- people use their LTI tokens to upgrade an "on sale" ship without LTI to one with LTI (does not work with "car-like" vehicles into space ships)
- there might be starter packs on sale for a reduced price? (Aurora madness)

So basically, you hope for a past pledge ship to be on sale and then use your LTI token to upgrade into that ship? This means, you don't directly buy the ship, but use the upgrade option from your hangar to transform into it.
Yea dawg, I know most of this:

-You're completely correct on LTI tokens.
--Yes, sales are when ships that are not available year-round in the store are made available for purchase.
---Usually LTI is only offered on "concept sales", meaning when a ship is first publicly announced and made available for purchase.
---Previous large sales have had "themed days" where different ships were made available, but there's no guarantee how CIG will conduct the upcoming sale until they announce it.
---Often major sales have longer-than-standard insurance lengths, but again, there's no guarantee until CIG says so.
-Yes, you're completely correct on how LTI tokens are used to upgrade ships, and on how purely ground-based vehicles are unable to be upgraded into spaceships.
-Reduced price starter packs have been offered during previous major sales, so it's a definite possibility, but again there's no guarantee until CIG says so.

And yes, most people use major sales to upgrade their LTI tokens into limited ships, instead of buying those ships directly.

From the looks of the updated ship info page the Gladiator is no longer tied to a carrier. Would it be worth getting since you can choose to have a cargo hold or a bomb bay to start with over a Blue.

I can really only afford one ship and I like dogfighting or at least being able to defend myself still practicing at FPS. I want to be able to haul a little if I find a derelict ship or something and run as defense for freighters. The super hornet is a little out of my price range. The Dur looks like a good all around ship that can do a lot with its setup and from renting the base version it does pretty well in Vandull swarm but I don’t know how good it will be as an escort and that’s an option I want to have.

So I guess really what I am asking you guys since most of you have been around longer and have multiple ships which one would suit my purposes best that’s $165 or less that I should be shopping for?

Get a Cutlass, use it to make the profits in-game until you can afford additional ships (we will be able to purchase ships in-game with in-game currency at some point, maybe even one of the 3.x builds.)

I really hope CIG finally decide to print volumes 3 and 4 of the Jump Point hardbacks. Everytime they are asked about it, the answer is "we are working on it". Maybe this year...
I still want volumes one and two!! lol I asked for reprints on twitter, she responded they'll see about it.

But if anything.. this year.. I want to score an idris and/or a Javelin. If I score either of those two or both, I'll be ecstatic!

I might try and grab a cheap game package to give to someone interested in the game, if they go cheap enough that is but I think I have all the ships I wanted right now, if there's a Connie sale that I know I won't get it cheaper any other time then I guess I could stretch to it if I was careful with my cash.

But tbh I feel I have everything I need right now and the past year seem me more than double my investments in the game and as great as it feels I think I've spent too much.

Okay maybe one more

After I get a Taurus

... And a Freelancer.

....

....

And maybe a cheeky little X85(they are just so sleek).

I am going to keep the cutlass and pry pick up a dragonfly to carry in it. I am not going to be a pirate but I like its dropship/boarding ship potential for other situations as well as being able to haul stuff.

The cutlass will be a versatile ship and I think for star citizen very well priced. You can haul a bit, fight a bit and that should be enough to enable you to save up for something else in game plus you can put a bike in the back as well. Considering its cheaper than most of the dedicated fighters with similar armaments it wont be a great dogfighter but its also not helpless.

Mainly buy backs and CCUs methinks: burn 1 buy back token to get my Carrack out (and an Aquila loaner during PTU-Live), CCU a LTI Dragonfly to a Cutlass, maybe grab some cheap game packages for my NPC army...errr...crew.

Cheap with lti else not sure.

Recently swapped an avenger for a cutlass wanted a freelancer Explorer but didn't have enough credit. Plus have an aquila anyway.

Wouldn't mind a gladius or vanguard.
