Depends on what you are flying. I got to 7-9 (don't remember exactly, I think it was 9.. it was well past the priest in 6) in an Aurora MR although that was in .9x. I made it to 7 in a Mustang Delta in 1.0. i am sure that folks who actually know what they are doing have done much better. My Dela kept hitting stuff I had just destroyed which was my undoing.
I got wave 1 on aurora because i can do head-on crash only 3 times :(
In my last attempt i reached wave 12. Funny part that i never died due to gunfire in that attempt...
1) Crashed with Vixen at wave 5
2) Attempted dogfighting in zone with very high amount of space trash, collided with some rock at wave 9...
3) Collided with my own rocket (not sure if it's possible, but it looked like it) at wave 12
I haven't had a chance to play the newer AC yet, but in .92 I managed to complete wave 15. To be fair, I was hiding in an asteroid after being nearly disabled, and I had been using the OP 4x Omnisky VI Hornet config, but still, it worked.
You're better than most if you win. But that would really only require a few hours of focused, practiced play to nail down. It's not really a score thing. It doesn't seem particularly difficult, they may integrate a timer at some point so that it's more about how fast than how many waves.
My score is 10 minutes for the hanger to load 15 minutes for AC to load then about 5 minutes of flying around trying to get my weapons to fire then I give up soo... -20. There will be upgrades before release, oh yes there will.
I know baron made it to wave 23 back in .8 or .9. I made it to wave 13 in .9, and I'm sure there are guys here who have "beaten" it in 1.0 it all comes down to how patient are you and how much you hobble yourself (by taking an aurora over a hornet or something.), and even then, it's more of a how long does it take to clear a wave deal.
upd: sold my 325 and other ships to acquire super hornet. Record: wave 15, but mosly stuck at wave 12. I still crash into debris, and that's main problems.
Anyone up for coop swarm flight?
