I tried using pidging but then that this happened. Why does shit break so much?

You forgot to go into 'Advanced' and set the Connect server to 'xmpp.robertsspaceindustries.com'

I just seen your message in chat. I had the same message before about not authorized or w/e the error was. I had to go into the settings of my RSI account and re-issue the token for the chat. Its like all the way at the bottom of the settings.

did you use the XMPP Token that's under My Account > Settings > bottom of the page below Chat? instead of your "password"?
that's what was my mistake when I tried syncing Pidgin the first time

I did. Tried a new token as JoeCool suggested. Didn't work.
