Why is this Forum so slow?!

Hi, this Forums takes ages to load.
I don't know if it's the size of the pictures,
or if it's a slow server, or just bad code.
Propaly a combination of all of them, but the speed of this Webite is way below average.
I would love, if you could look for a way to speed it up.

For example the background image could be cut into two parts, so the part in the middle, which isn't shown anyways could be deleted, or replaced by a smaller Banner.
Also the resolution of the background image should be cut down to 1920 x1080, as most Users won't see it in higher resolution anyways.
Please upload or resize all pictures in/to the resolution they are usually got displayed in.
There is no point in a 4k background image when the size of the browser window is only 1920x1080
That's ~6.000.000 pixels to much. or ~17 Megabyte(didn't take compression of the file into account but you get the idea) wasted traffic per site that is loaded on this Forum

Many of us probably don't have 1080 monitors anymore I would bet. I don't want to look at low rez pictures. Besides, it loads fast for me. I would ask if you were on dial up, but your are not from America, therefore you probably have fast internet.

well, i have a "fast" connection of 50mbit/s, but the site still takes ~3 to ~8 seconds to load. which i consider slow, compared to simillar sites, which usually load within 3 seconds.
Also there is the option, to deliver an image dependendent on browser resolution.

With a 100 Mb/s, it loads for me in under a second as well. We may need to see how it loads for other European members.

I have around 50mbps as well and have no problems. I'm running a 4k monitor with max res. Maybe an issue on your end?
