I wouldn't be surprised if it showed up in the anniversary sale, so unless you're after LTI it might be worth waiting
As far as I know this ship is not available to buy, both with real money and without in and outside of the game.
However...
There was an F7A upgrade available during veterans day some years ago... This upgrade does not transform your F7whatever into an A completely. It only changes the bodywork to allow the modules that are on an F7A normally I believe. There is a page on the RSI website that gives more precise details.
As for it showing up on an anniversary sale, don't count on it!

The F7A was only ever a cosmetic change (with possibly some very minor in game changes from the altered exterior affecting the thruster placement) and only sold in 2013 (for Veterans Day, IIRC), and has not been offered since.
I would be quite surprised if it came back, but I suppose with the F7A fully complete for SQ42 this would be the time to do it.
I don't own any of the Hornet series, so bring the cosmetic body kit on, but leave the Naval issue gear out of backer hands imo.
There is a bit more to it than just a cosmetic change, If the RSI website would actually load I'd have looked up the details by now but this is what I remember:
On the F7A upgrade announcement page it noted that the upgrade counts for all Hornet variants (super hornets keep their second seat). The upgrade does not turn it into a F7A, instead it changes the location of certain parts (the cosmetic change).
There was also a reply from Ben stating that the upgrade would also change the armor value of the F7something, as well as allow for the military parts to fit (like the military engine).
Though there hasn't been any news relating to this for quite some time. So only this is certain: Things may change :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Super Hornet has a seat for a co-pilot who can man the big turret or manage energy and shields, etc

Basicly the F7A has the best of every component. The SH still comes very close though! CIG was considering a military F7A-M as well after they finished the F7C-M.
Also remember a good fighter might not get you very far unless you have a way to go to jump point to jump point so while a hornet may be the best its not going to actually get you to target to target

Also note that Ben is routinely wrong about anything and everything, (he himself admits he's the worst source of info) and that the last official info about the F7A was posted over 3 years ago.
