Xenothreat Mission in 1 go!

Well, thats a lie. I had done 2 missions against Xenothreat earning me 19.000 Contribution points.
Then I did the Xenothreat IDRIS mission by accident solo.
Meaning the other 2 guys trying to down that ship in their Corsairs and Taurus gave up after getting shot down by a ship that ever so often teleported through your cockpit.
Me?
I respawned my little Pisces Red many times before I managed to land it in the IDRIS hangar.
Well, "landed" as in true TEST SQUARDON fashion.
Mostly red in the hull and one Bulldog missing.
But you get the point , right?
Fought my way through a multitude of guards that I might as well have ignored completely.
But you can't loot living NPCs, now can you?
One of them got that Butcher Helmet too. You know, that Strata with the Xenothreat Logo?
Anywho, after a little Odyssey I finally shot the pilot in the head and watched a parade of blueprints being announced for what streched like minutes.
Oh well, got the full 4 Mil and 120.000 Points all for myselve.
Noice...

From 19.000 to 139.000 in one go feels great.
Plus no more wasting time on pretty boring missions...

Well, and as a respawn spot. Would have been disgracefull to go out of my way to take over an IDRIS only to fall victim to desynced gunfire two steps away from the bridge.
The little Red ticks of so many useful boxes.

No joke. Killed around 30-40 people on my way in. And then some on the way back out.
Did it with their own weapons though. Pretty much a shooting range as it turnes out.
Halve of them ran passed me and kept jogging against closed doors. Others did stop and aimed at me. But only 5 or 6 guys got around to actually fire at me.
As I said, BAD desyncs currently. On a working server I might have died to overwhelming numbers once or twice.
Not walk up to one guy, knock him out and shot his comrades in the face with his shotgun.
I am not THAT good.

So, if the Red got shot up, would you recommend the Med Turtle? Takes hit better I think, and there’s little point shooting at the Idris? Any suggestions about nuking the Idris from tte inside with a Sentinel, Warlock or Raven? Would there be any benefit to systems you challenged and might have knocked out?

I have long thought assault teams might just enter through the hangar, but I never guessed anyone would take a ship like that solo. Serious kudos.

Well it would hardly have worked in PvP.
But solo-hijacking an Idris is feasible if all you have to worry about are jerky NPCs.
The Pisces Red is actually preferable to Medipin for the simple reason that it's easier hitting a moving hangar with the smaller ride.
And that IDRIS is jerking around like it's nobodies business!

Actually, for practice I did the same thin again with a Shiv and a Pulse.
The IDRIS was stuck in Quantum, so shields down and no weapons shooting. Seems to happen sometimes with the laggy servers.
I spent AGES with my Shiv shooting open those Hangar doors.
But once that was done I was inside in a breeze with that Pulse. Shot up a couple of NPCs that surprisingly shot back for once.
Killed the pilot and got disapointet as I only got 40.000 Points and 1.333.333 aUec.
Damn leeches, just taking the mission but not showing up... tzzz...

PS: Also TESTed, Airlocks on an IDRIS open with one Railgun shot per door. Only problem is getting to that door while the IDRIS moves. Guess a Dragonfly and the Gunner on the backseat might work. Then again, the PDCs will shoot at you, so be aware.
