Zero CCU

Can someone explain what a zero CCU was. I was reading an old post and it made is sound like the practice was very common. But if it was simply a lateral move to another similarly valued ship I don't see the value. Was upgrading free? Thanks, Cromwell

I have also seen a few references to downgrades. Where we able to downgrade to a less expensive ship at some point? Thanks, Cromwell

There were these token CCU's which allowed you change from one ship to another ship of equal value, at zero cost.

As for downgrades, I am not aware of a way that you could downgrade from a higher value ship to a lower through the CCU system.

The only way to 'downgrade' a ship would be to melt it and purchase a ship of lesser value with thee resulting store credits... avoiding the 'CCU' system.

Downgrades. You need a few special things to happen and they aren't worth it. I have an old Carrack ($600) to Prowler ($440) ccu "downgrade" available for buyback at $25
