ever heard of hub gears? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hub_gear)If you look very carefully at the steer, (zoom in) then you will notice that this ancient cargo bike doesn't has gears (also no lights). If there are no crates behind the ones shown, then you would have 9 crates, each with (this is a assumption) 18x 0.5 litre is 9 litres of beer, without the bottles or crate, 2 empty crates. This comes down to 63 litres of beer. An empty bottle approximately weighs 0.4 kg. That is almost as much as the beer.
A rough estimate would be 126 kg, without gear.......... Good luck hill up when not sober :D, I surely hope that the brakes are good.
Lol. I never heard of hub gear, but I'm sure they didn't had that technology when the Grolsch beer bike was made ;).ever heard of hub gears? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hub_gear)
and since the steer has so much movement it would be logical to place the leaver for the gearchange somewhere else. for example on the frame ;) (just search for frame mounted gear shifter :D)
and since that part is covered with the bar stool we may never know XD
i for one would never ride such a Bike without gears XD if it is that heavy loaded how else would you get it movin without gears?
One of these that was crewed by TESTies would go nowhere because we'd all be too busy drinking to actually pedal. I foresee the same issues for our TSS Murderer missions. But what a luxurious problem to have!Or this.
I've seen these going around my city as well, but the person to beer ratio isn't that great... my guess is 30 minutes and it's gone :POr this.
Well I don't know how long this bike has been around but the hub gears haven been around for quite some time ^^ (successfully since 1900)Lol. I never heard of hub gear, but I'm sure they didn't had that technology when the Grolsch beer bike was made ;).
[EDIT] I guess you also wouldn't drive a car where you had to start it with a handlever turning around, but if that is all you have, you will start turning.
I still have a motorcycle which I must kick to start, works better then the electro starter

Ah well then my theory is bustet XD
Naaah, too much hills where I live, no big hills, but big enough. In the rest of the country it would be possible to use that kind of bicycle.Ah well then my theory is bustet XD
Is this your own bike? o_O
