I think you'v got it backward. It is not until recent history that such obviously deficient behavior had the sympathy of sufficient portions of society, that they were even considered for conversation. When someone starts a thread in a gaming forum, presuming that people will agree or shut up, they are the ones who made the odd assumption. Throughout history this kind of crazy is rare, especially in the West where we have enjoyed the Rule of Law for some centuries.
You don't get it. People who present these kinds of notions throughout most of American history would have been tarred and feathered, so please stop whining.

This is a biased form of historical misinformation. History was written by the ones in charge just like public media is swayed by bias, money or whatever other forms of persuasion.

Do you apply this kind of sensibility to all human history or just the bits you don't like? I am just wondering what they teach in schools these days. So you don't believe in studying history at all?
All I am going to say at this point is this conversation was fine until you labeled everyone in the state of Oregon as "this type of crazy" and labeled everyone in the protest as "deviant" as for all your references to the past I have no idea what you are talking about, its bland and generic and not even remotely true as if you are some sort of history scholar and I find it completely baffling at the least with no real information other than the notion that what you are claiming is true. :)
And now I am done with this thread as its gotten nowhere fast and I don't want to have any hard feelings with anyone in this awesome organization. :P

Well, now that the morality police have arrived to deliver advise that has nothing to do with TEST (unless you enjoy being in your underwear in Star Citizen) I think we need to just stop.

Agreed. The same will be true if someone tries to push their views about abortion or drug use--it does not belong. This has nothing to do with people being able to "handle civil discussion". Everyone who viewed this thread and thought it belonged before the stir, was wrong to leave it in the forum and so pander to the children who were starting a fuss.

I don't care if someone wants to advertise an event (clothed or not... I just won't attend if it offends me) but we don't need to argue about the morality of it on here. Either read and ignore or read and attend/joke about it or read and don't attend/make a penis joke. I don't care, but we don't need to argue about its moral grounds on here.
