Has a anyone else here been amazed at the intel available through the Commodities tab? I just discovered it. Did y'all notice the flight planner here? This is pretty great stuff.
This map is 2 years old and everything in it has been changed.
The systems are now in different places and connect to different systems.
Planets have even changed and thus the economy of each.

This map 'info' was leaked 2 years ago and CIG decided to change everything.
Perhaps the people who made this at mojoworld will update it soon. It is a great map and I used it a lot prior to the info changing.

I can't get it to load at all. Maybe it's because I'm on Safari, but I seem to be dead in the water here so far as catching up on the 'verse. How annoying.
Hmmmmm. Weird. It is resource intensive. Do you have chrome to try it on? A tablet or anything?

It seems to function in Firefox but it is so slow that I have to wonder at the intention of the thing. It's almost useless. Could be my machine. It's 8 years old now, but it is not especially slow. iMac 3 Ghz duo core, Radeon 4670 is old school, but never slugs around like this. I don't see how the map is supposed to be useful. When playing you almost need a second 'puter just to run the map. How is that a good idea? This other, "unofficial" map had the virtue of actually working. I have to wonder what CIG was thinking in creating this. I'm sure it's supposed to be more immersive, but it is not especially useful unless there are features I have not unlocked. That could be.

As for Chrome, it runs much slower than Safari and Firefox. It would probably make things worse. Safari has always run very fast on this machine. It was designed to run fast.

It's been a while since I accessed it. I'll jump online this weekend and see if I'm experiencing the same issues

Cross posting Sam's wonderful map here so we can discuss:

http://usukracing.com/sc/starmap.html

Thanks so much. This is the kind of detail I love to see. So they moved Oberon over by Vega. Looks like they want to make that the center for UEE/Vanduul conflicts. Perhaps even more importantly, Leir has 6 wormholes. Still looks like the ideal out-of-the-way place to have a Privateering group. Note that there is one small tunnel to Vanguard (Vanduul space) for easy access raiding, and that Vanguard has a large wormhole to Elysium so can accommodate a Reclaimer. You can wait the Reclaimer in Elysium space and bring it in after you have a downed target.

First order of business for anyone flying out of Leir ought to be to recon Vanguard and map it for wormholes. I'd be interested to do that for the half dozen Vanduul worlds in that vicinity or linked to it, and I would guess the UEE would pay handsomely for that intel.

Also if The Outsiders on Leir prove to be a formidable force, one might fly out of Garron. IIUC, "developing" worlds are "protected", so UEE doesn't want one very involved there? But what does that mean? Obviously Garron has money and it is on two major trade routes.

Also noting there is money to be made selling fuel out of Banshee, Idris, Cathcart and Nyx. Looks like you could earn a handsome living just flying a Star-G between Tamsa and Banshee. And note they moved Trise up North. The last Map the Banu had one discontiguous world up North but Trise, its religious center; was down South. They also moved Yulin off by itself, so the Banu have made it a point to not be concerned with having contiguous holdings.

For raiders, it is interesting to select trade routes and then toggle between which size wormholes are displayed. This will tell you where to find which traffic. If you're a small privateering group and don't want to hit anything larger than a Hull C, and don't want to attack in UEE space, you now know that Null is on the "Terra-Centari Loop" and has only two medium wormholes, so you know where to be to find a target. Likewise you can also see that there is only one wormhole linking the independent world Branaugh and there is a trade route there, so anyone who comes into that system to trade will be medium size or less and appear in one location. Small raiders can hit that pretty easily and wise traders will have an armed escort.

In my opinion, especially in the first months of SC starting there is no way riding a trade vessel without having an escort at your side.

I'm still not sure if I should go on a Hull-ship or if I'm staying a flexible and fast Privateer, using my 'lancer MAX. On the other hand - depending on what CIG will realize, looking on possible game mechanics - there should be the option to absolve profitable runs by even using a Connie Aquila or a 'farer (keep in mind her huge storage space!). Thus I've decided against an investment into Hull up to now. Well, yeah, this map linked before indeed is most interesting and hopefully the author will keep this little treasure up to date until release of SC :)

I understand The Outsiders on Leir have Lancers, Connies and Hulls of all sizes they let out on zero-interest loans indefinitely. They don't even require a down payment or scheduled repayment plan.

I think that is really nice of them.
