why all the 2.5 to PTU hype?

I mean, Yay, it's with Evocati and CR mentioned they fixed a big issue. So, why all the hype that 2.5 is opening up on the PTU? is this just "hoping" or citable reference?

It's a good thing whenever a new release goes out, I think that's why. Especially since this year it has been much slower releasing things than CIG wanted, and so another release so soon(tm) after 2.4 is celebrated. :)

Unless/until CIG gets a well oiled periodic release machine going, each release will be a cause for celebration.

I, for one, am always excited when builds get passed from the Avocados to the general PTU because that's when the gag-order lifts and we can start watching streams of the new features in action. I might avoid the streams this time though....I want Grim Hex to be completely foreign to me when I cycle that airlock

I believe Chris Roberts mentioned in this week's ATV that 2.5 was getting out to Evocati "shortly" (at the time of the video) then went on to say that it would likely quickly move to the PTU. That's MY memory of it, but I'm too lazy to find the video and confirm his wording.

2.5 means next content patch is 2.6 with starmarine and that means 2.7 with all the fancy stuff around the bend.
