And I feel somewhat underwhelmed.... I feel I did it just for the LTI, F7CM and 350R... which ofc isn't worth the cost of the pack but atleast I have a ton of ships to CCU out from.. but then ..there's the next packs that have the freelancers... then afterward the pack with the connies.. so... I feel over the next year I'll just be melting all over again to upgrade further because quite frankly... I'm not at all happy with the battle pack choices (except for the 350R and F7CM).
Thoughts?
I originally had no intention of putting more than my standard middle of the road backing into this game ($45). But I began developing an idea for how I wanted to play and before I knew it I had a pretty good, but rather randomly acquired fleet. I melted everything for the Battle Pack, like you did.
But first, I wrote out not only what ships I got in the Battle Pack, but how I'd transform each one into the ships I wanted to field after Beta. The only ships not CCU'd now are the 350r, SH, Aurora LN and Aurora CL - which are in my "Keepers" list.
I am exactly one ship from my final roster - the Crucible I intend to be my flagship for Rolo.
In the mean time, through giveaways and, let's face it, desire for shiny things, I've also got a few extra little ships.
Sorry, got off track.
My thoughts about the value of the Battle Pack:
1) It's a dual package with 20,000 UEC. That can be considered start up money to buy cargo and get the ball rolling.
2) all 13 ships are LTI and can be CCU'd to your final configuration without needing to jump on or track down "LTI Token" offers. This is good value if you hope to have at least 13 ships later on that are long past their LTI concept sale. In essence, I can give LTI to any ship I wish to acquire, as long as I am CCUing to the same or higher value.
3) The extras that come with the pack may be fluff, but there's a lot of it, and some may be sellable in game, for an even better jumpstart.
4) Should I end up with too many ships in the end, it is my personal feeling that ship prices in game will be astronomical (Small ships quite affordable, bigger ships progressing geometrically or even exponentially). Selling extra ships makes it viable to fully load a Cargo E, for instance, on Day One. Spending $50 for an Avenger Titan or $50 for 50,000UEC. Which do you think will be worth more in game?
So I think the Battle Pack is worth it. It's a good base to expand from. My BP cost $1,100... it's current value is just over $2,000 in ships and extras.
Wing Commander? Most of my ships are small. Do what I did with the big mommas and you'd get there soon enough.
