You are the MVPPropaly this one, because there is nothing heroic or beatiful about real war.
Yes, its not beatufull, but it can be heroic. Defending what you love, defending the weak.
But todays war is all about money.
But my "favorite" battle is Siege of eger (1552 )
The battle was betwen Kingdom of hungary and Ottoman empire
Hungary had 2100 defenders . The ottoman empire had 30-40.000 soldier.
The Siege was 38 day long, ottomans had 120+ cannon but they didn't managed to capture Eger.
So yeah, hungary defended Austria and itself... but sadly in 1596 The ottoman empire managed to capture the castle, and they dominated the area over 100 year...
