The far side of the AC Broken Moon...

So, I was in an AC Battle Royale and all the other competitors froze, although I could move. Even the missiles stopped moving.

I tried to re-spawn by crashing in to an asteroid but just bounced off with no damage. So I tried to edge-death by passing the boundary... and just flew straight through... and there is was before me, the broken moon, and nothing to stop me from getting to it!

I was in the right ship, a rented 350r with what i hoped to be more than enough speed to make my investigation before the session time ended.

We make it to the far side of the moon and down to the planet to see what those terraforming lasers are doing from a different angle.

Very cool. Looks like a bit of texture crashing/incomplete models around the backside of the moon.

Yeah not surprising considering it is a non-player area, I was hoping there was going to be a Bennys Drive-Through or at least a wrecked ship or perhaps "Disco-Lando Was Here" etched in to the surface of the moon. What should we put there? It could be put up for charity auction. ;)

Was interesting to see the atmospheric effects from near ground level on the planet, i was expecting it to be all 2d from above. Looking forward to being able to touch down on the ground more than ever now.

Not sure where you should post it. I would even think it needed to be in a bug report. I'd put it wherever community media videos go up for a laugh.

I already have a back-story for how the moon got broke f they want one:

It was the site of one of TESTs more eventful parties - denied a licence to hold it on the planet below, we were permitted to hold it on the seemingly safe area of the unpopulated moon above.

TEST broke the moon in an overly enthusiastic aerobatics display involving nine fully laden Beerfairers flying in perfect diamond formation in to the moon itself, blowing a fair size chunk out of it.

Now there are lasers based in orbit to simulate the planets natural tides to keep the eco-system stable, while plans are made for Rock Raiders put the Moon back together one piece at a time.

The event became so synonymous with fun and disaster going hand in hand, it became a level in the popular Arena Commander simulation game where players experience being decimated in an entertaining manner, flying round the lasers attempting to destroy each other.

I popped it up over there and had a modest amount of interest.

I have not been asked to name the moon unfortunately, but if i was lucky enough to, after much research, I would name her "Ninkasi"...

...a very TEST related name...

...Ninkasi is the Sumerian goddess of beer!

I have since read into the Lore, and have discovered the Broken Moon is in the Taranis Star System. Away with my crummy backstory, there was me thinking it was just a level in AC!

I will get to recreate my run one day for real in the PU... I so look forward to that :slight_smile:
