The symbol of medicine is the Rod of Asclepius, not the Caduceus. Caduceus is the symbol of commerce and trade.

You're absolutely correct in that the caduceus symbol wasn't originally associated with healing/medicine. However, just like spoken language, symbols can drift from their original use over time. Its use in the United States is just because someone, a long time ago, went "Oh shit, was it the stick with one snake or two? Oh well no one will care". It's a cultural difference (something the USA excels at).Guys, please.

But, if it's a big deal we can just use a stick that has THREE snakes on it.
can we have test snakes? with crash test helmets? or maybe wrap auroras around the stick?
